Onix® Pickleball, an Escalade, Inc. (Nasdaq: ESCA) brand and global leader in the sport of pickleball, today announced that it has acquired DURA Pickleball, a brand known for being the official ball of the US OPEN Pickleball Championships, Tournament of Champions, and the USA National Pickleball Championships. The acquisition will significantly strengthen Escalade Sports’ leadership in the pickleball market, with the DURA brand complementing and enhancing the current Onix® and Pickleball Now® brand offerings.

The DURA acquisition is part of a broader company strategy to strengthen its position in established and emerging sports and outdoor recreational activities. The transaction will enable Escalade Sports to deepen its relationships with existing consumers and customers by expanding choices for both tournament and recreational play.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of DURA to the Escalade Sports’ family of sports and recreation brands,” said Dave Fetherman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Escalade, Inc. “This acquisition will enable us to provide improved support to our existing customers as we expand our efforts into the pickleball category. We remain confident in our strategy to grow our business through internal innovation and acquisitions and believe DURA Pickleball with its impressive following in the market aligns directly with our plan.”

“Pickleball Central is proud to have been the steward of the DURA brand since we acquired Pickle-Ball Inc. in 2016, and we feel this transaction is good for the DURA brand, and the sport, by placing the brand in the hands of a dominant pickleball manufacturer with world-class R&D, manufacturing, and marketing capabilities,” shared Edward Hechter, Chief Executive Officer of Pickleball Central. “As the industry’s largest company devoted purely to pickleball, this deal enhances our ability to focus on serving consumers as a retailer by providing the best advice, service, selection, and after-sale customer support in the industry.”
